Police Training... Their best

Nothing like a little obfiscuration..

The taser is being tested by frontline policemen in Auckland and Wellington.

An official police update of the Taser trial, published on October 17, made no mention of this wallys success.

A constable who had had Taser training, was not injured, when he accidentally blasted himself with the Taser's 50,000 volts while trying reload his weapon on October 1.

Whilst attempting to stun the man at the centre of the dispute the officer accidentally shot the man's teenage son.

After five attempts to hit the man, the officer eventually used pepper spray but hit the man's 21-year-old daughter – another unintended target.

I'm just thankful that the boys in blue are still not routinely armed.

Government Leaking like seive

The leader of the New Zealand National Party leader Don Brash has got an interim injunction stopping the publication of leaked emails he believes were stolen from his computer.

The interim injunction granted in the High Court at Wellington yesterday and names as first and second defendants "John and Jane Doe".

Dr Brash said the interim injunction stopped publication by any means - website, publication or broadcast - or distribution of copies of the emails.

How laughable is that? A very highly ranked government officer has emails stolen? Arent we talking about the Beehive? The center of government? Where one would expect security to be of the utmost importance and efficiency...

As well one would expect that the audit and tracking facilities would be of a robust nature and easily reveal the path these "stolen" emails followed.

What if the silly twat had a virus? what if the emails are attached to a virus and happily winging their way all around the world.

Does this mean that every owner of a computer with a virus whose machine spreads these emails further is going to be prosecuted?

One can only wonder as too the content of these emails.. National Security? Salacious gossip? Romantic entanglements? Child porn? Damaging enough to see Dr Brash loose his tenuous leadership?

Speed Kills

To prevent cars from speeding through town they commissioned a group of busty blondes to hold up speed limit signs and slow people down.

Surely a much more efficient campaign than the present campaigns being espoused by Land Transport Safety Auhority and ACC....

Justice is still alive in New Zealand

What a waste of tax payers money!

Spoilt little rich kid is able to get a counsel for child appointed to present her case and has removed herself from her mother's care into the guardianship of the Family Court..

All because she wanted to live with her sister who is in her early 20s and will allow her free reign.

The mother said "She is not a bad daughter, she is not in trouble with the law, she is not in trouble at the school, she is just a normal teenager" and "is appointing someone to be her legal guardian who will let her do what she wants... unlike a mother, over normal issues like being home at 11pm".

What arrant nonsense..

New Zealand does face some serious issues with child safety and abuse but for the family court to allow itself to be dragged into what is basically a teen age tanty is ludicrous..

Why couldn't the judge simply tell the little brat that she was being stupid and too go home and enjoy her life... at least she has a life!!!!

I speak even less highly for the private school and their counsellor who supported this poor little rich kid!

Mind you the New Zealand education system is itself in tatters with the New Zealand Qualification Authority now allowing "text speak" to be used in exminations. Utter bullshit and just another indicator that the entire New Zealand Education system is failing miserably.
