Support Kiwi's

You hear the government often bleating about the balance of trade deficit and just how much New Zealand money flows offshore as profits for large multinationals.

A simple change of banks would signal to all New Zealand that the government is serious about supporting New Zealand.

A pity that the average New Zealander is just as short sighted.

It has been my personal policy for many years not to shop at Foodtown and Countdown supermarkets.

1. Because they're a multinational company.

2. They have never had a good reputation for looking after their workers.

The current lockout of distribution workers by Progressive Enterprises is just another example of the contempt that Progressive holds for their employees.

Come on New Zealand Boycott all the Progressive stores for 6 Months and this company will be gone..

The present shortage of workers in New Zealand should see all the current employees of progressive find better paying Jobs without too many hassles.

Lets support Kiwi's and Kiwi business's over theses rapacious multinationals.

Keep it in New Zealand

Kiwibank reported yesterday it had doubled its tax-paid profit for the year to June 30 to $15.8 million.

The big four, ANZ National Bank, ASB Bank, Bank of New Zealand and Westpac, have collectively reported about $2.5 billion in profits this year, which has been taken offshore.

It absolutely galls me that the Government continues to use foreign owned banks for its banking services.

There are two New Zealand owned Banks that could more than adequately service the banking requirements of the government.

Its about bloody time that the government started supporting its own!

At least then some of my tax dollars wouldn't appear as profit in an overseas balance sheet.

Good one

With over 1500 bikers attending, the 32'nd Annual Cold Kiwi was blessed with great weather.

So thanks to the Ruapehu Motorcycle Club for organising and hosting another great rally.

As with any event there will be senseless accidents, its just a shame that we dont learn from past mistakes. My condolences to the locals and organisers who lost a friend.

I will be keeping my open for a cheap green BMW with less than a thousand K's on the clock. ABS brakes might keep old fools on bikes safe on the Auckland motorway but a few riding skills would help when away from home.. Great crowd pleasing endo though. JAFA's
