It wasnt me

Labour MP Taito Phillip Field today said he has never done anything illegal as an MP.

“I would like to make clear that:
- I have never taken money from an old lady in return for services.
- I have never taken bribes or payments for services.
- I have never wrongly altered any official document, or asked any staff member to do so.
- I have never asked for cheap labour in return for services and I have never required cheap labour rates for painting on my properties. I contracted the work and paid what I understood to be fair market rates for the work.
- I never asked or arranged for Mr Suriwan to go to Samoa and work on my house in return for my assistance.”

Nah mate youve never paid cash to get a job done cheap? you must be well above reproach then.

The Ingram report just couldnt get answers.. and was only allowed to ask certain questions. Even then the PM's attempt to whitewash your case with her extremely limited terms for the inquiry just muddied the waters.

I understand that you used your frequent flyer miles to pay for a ticket for your worker to go to Fiji? Youve stated that the worker then repaid the cost of the airticket.

IMHO using your frequent flyer miles accumulated from your travel as an MP on flights paid for by the NZ tax payer should only be used for further travel as an MP therby saving the NZ tax payer some money. Certainly not used to purchase flights for non family members.

Where did the money from the sale of your frequent flyer miles go?

Honor

Honor is a funny word isn't it.. "honesty, fairness, or integrity in one's beliefs and actions".

Such a word however should not be associated with our current members of parliament.

For example, The "Honorable" member of parliament Taito Phillip Field has been told to reconsider his career by our gracious and "honorable" Prime Minister. For the constituents of the Mangere electorate once represented by The Right Honorable David Lange (a man well deserving of that title). The balatant abuse of position and power by their current MP must be particulary galling. The constituents of Mangere obviously expected a lot more from their representative upon whom the title of Taito (paramount Chief) of the Village of Manase, Savaii, Samoa was bestowed in 1975.

The "Right Honorable Prime Minister Helen Clark" still hasnt had the guts or integrity to fire her miscreant MP this time opting to allow the Labour Party council to deal with the "problem.

Just more of the same old same old

License to spout

Ah well the initial post to a new toy.

The price of petrol has gone down.. wooohooo. Hope it stays down until after the Cold Kiwi.

Still I feel ripped off everytime I pass a gas station. The oil companies are all recording record profits. Not surprising is it?

In New Zealand they're quick to blaim currency exchange rates. Every time the KIWI falls up goes the price of gas.. I do find it perplexing that every time the KIWI increases in value the oil companies are a hell of a lot slower to drop their price at the pump.
